Pandora Unveils Spotify Competitor, Courts Acquirers
Pandora’s been making moves to add on-demand streaming to their service ever since the company acquired Rdio back in 2015. Today, The Verge reports that the company finally unveiled that on-demand service, Pandora Premium, which at $10 a month will compete with Spotify and Apple Music. Pandora Premium promises to offer more opportunities for personalization, giving subscribers recommendations based on their user history, and will still feature the radio stations Pandora provides for free. Pandora Premium is a step up from Pandora Plus, which stores thumbprint stations offline, but doesn’t provide unlimited album streaming. According to CNBC, Pandora is also looking for acquirers aside from SiriusXM.
