Watch Bruno Mars Do A Delightful Carpool Karaoke With James Corden
Last week, James Corden had Madonna on his phenomenally popular Carpool Karaoke segment. It went badly. This week, things went differently. Corden brought in Bruno Mars, who is basically the ideal Carpool Karaoke guest. Mars is a consummate entertainer who can be ingratiating without forcing anything, one who knows how to perform even when he’s riding shotgun with a British late-night goofball. He has a discography that, while it’s only three albums deep, is loaded with hits. And he has hits that make for great car singalongs. Recent numbers like “24K Magic” and “Versace On The Floor” can hang with “Uptown Funk!” and “Grenade” and “Locked Out Of Heaven.” He seems like he’s still happy to hear “Uptown Funk!” on a car stereo, which, I mean, if I was him, I’d be pretty psyched about it too. And he also gave a taste of the Elvis impersonation he did as part of his family’s hotel band when he was four. It’s a great Elvis impersonation! The whole segment was about as fun as these things get, and you can watch it below.
