Stream Half Japanese Hear The Lions Roar
The Maryland art-punk band Half Japanese have been around since 1975. They’ve served as an inspiration for lo-fi DIY music for decades, and they’ve been a favorite of bands like Nirvana, who took them on tour at their own commercial peak. In recent years, Jad Fair and his co-conspirators have stayed busy, and next week, they’ll follow up last year’s Perfect with their new album Hear The Lions Roar. The new album is scratchy and chaotic, but it’s also tuneful, and it sometimes features horns and strings. And right now, you can stream the whole thing below, via NPR.
Hear The Lions Roar is out 1/13 on Fire.
