Stream Rata Negra Oído Absoluto
Here’s a fun Bandcamp discovery: Rata Negra, a three-piece punk band from Madrid, have just shared their debut album Oído Absoluto, and it’s an absolute blast of buzzing, tuneful, and immediate hooks. Rata Negra, whose name means Black Rat, sing in Spanish, and they launch into their songs with an anxious sense of immediacy. This is clearly a low-budget recording, but there’s nothing sloppy about it. Instead, the band brings the melodies, playing fast and loose and fun music that recalls the California melodic punk of the early ’80s. You can, and should, stream the whole album below.
Oído Absoluto is out 1/25 on La Vida Es Un Mus.
