Last month Sigur Rós announced an extensive tour for later this year that, like their extensive tour from last year, will find them performing at each date two career-spanning sets broken up by an intermission. A trio of those shows will take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, with the band backed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic as well as a newly announced string of special guests that include the esteemed likes of Dan Deacon, Owen Pallett, Nico Mulhy, and Anna Meredith, among a number of other collaborators and composers. These performances are all part of the the Philharmonic’s Reykjavík Festival, a celebration of the Icelandic music scene, and will mark the first time the band performs publicly with an orchestra since 2003.
