Caddywhompus – “Decent”
Caddywhompus haven’t released music in three years since their sophomore LP Feathering A Nest. “Decent,” which introduces the arrival of the duo’s LP Odd Hours, is a cacophonous combustion of guitar distortion and sharp chord changes. It starts off unassuming and instrumentally sane until it falls down a rabbit hole of euphoric unrest when Chris Rehm’s biting vocals reach high peaks of shrill momentum. The track narrates a dialogue between two people working out the kinks of a relationship.”Promise me you’ll open up your eyes to my words/ Moving towards another mistake but I’ll learn,” Rehm sings. “Decent” has been under construction — as a part of Rehm and fellow member Sean Hart’s live set — for over three years. Odd Hours is out 4/14 via Inflated Records.
