VeilHymn – “Hymn” Video
Blood Orange mastermind Dev Hynes recently teamed up with his friend Bryndon Cook, of Starchild & The New Romantic, to form a new duo called VeilHymn. Together, the two of them released the debut single “Hymn” last month, and now they have a gorgeous, ecstatic video to go with it. Director Malia James shot the video in Jamaica, working with choreographer Juri Onuki, a frequent Hynes collaborator, to film people in badass ’60s fashion dancing slowly through the streets and bedrooms. It’s a soft, warm, tender video, and while James tells Rolling Stone that photographer Malick Sidibé was the inspiration, I also see some Terrence Mallick in its slow beauty. Check it out below.
