Blanck Mass – “Please” Video
Next month, Fuck Buttons’ Benjamin John Power will release his latest album as Blanck Mass, World Eater. We’ve already been treated to two tracks from the album, “Please” and “Silent Treatment,” and today he’s shared a video for the former. It was directed by Michael Tan and depicts a vividly alien world centered around figures made out of pure light. Heres how Tan explained the video in a press release:
Blanck Mass (Ben) and I looked at old CGI ’80s movies like Lawnmower Man and 3D animated internet memes, which are far different from my polished, hyper-real 3D renderings I usually create. Drawing from these inspirations, the result is a bit of a mix between Lo-Fi and a role-playing adventure game,” Tan explains. “With the current political climate, it’s hard not to be concerned about the future of the planet and the population as a whole. There seems to be no genuine concern from governments about the state of the earth, climate change, or the future. The video personifies this concern within its characters.
