Matt Cutler, the UK producer who records as Lone, released the brainy instrumental album Levitate last year. And this year, he’s planning on releasing a series of club-centric EPs. The first of those EPs is called Ambivert Tools, and it’s coming next month. It opens with “Crush Mood,” a track that reminds me of how the Orb sounded in the early-’90s days when they were equally interested in spacing out and in making raves jump. It’s a house track that reaches for astral beauty while still banging hard. Check it out below.
