The Regina, Saskatchewan musician Andy Shauf makes lush, old-school ’70s-style studio pop, and he impressed a few people here at Stereogum when he released his album The Party last year. Last night, Shauf got to make his late-night TV debut, performing “To You” on James Corden’s Late Late Show. Shauf has a sedate presence, and he tends to close his eyes really tight whenever he sings. He backing band included a clarinet player, which is not something you see everyday.
