Senator Invokes Macklemore During Trumpcare Press Conference
There seems to be no end to the major political stories carrying on right now, but one of the biggest is the GOP’s battle to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare. President Trump and Paul Ryan have proposed a replacement called the American Health Care Act, which has proven extremely unpopular. Partially that’s because the plan would lead to 24 million fewer people with health insurance and only seems to benefit lavishly wealthy people like Trump himself. As SPIN points out, the battle over Trumpcare has gotten so heated that Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) has dragged the always polarizing Macklemore into the fray. Specifically, Cantwell brought up Macklemore’s blockbuster 2012 album The Heist as a means to describe the AHCA:

Guess we’ll all be shopping at the “Thrift Shop” pretty soon, right Maria? Eh? Eh?
