It's been two years, almost exactly, since Kendrick Lamar released To Pimp A Butterfly, his landmark third album. And even though he gave us the excellent outtakes collection untitled unmastered. and a whole slew of guest verses in the interim, it still feels a bit like Kendrick has been missing for a minute. (Rap music moves fast.) So it's a beautiful thing to wake up and see that Kendrick has posted an Instagram message that simply reads "IV." There are no further details right now, but the message seems to be: Start getting excited.
Kendrick is headlining a few big festivals this spring -- Coachella, Rolling Loud -- so it seems possible that this thing will show up sooner than anyone thought possible.
