Watch A Kirin J Callinan Mockumentary Featuring Mac DeMarco, Jack Black, Mark Ronson, & More
The deeply creepy Australian experimental type Kirin J Callinan hasn’t released an album since his 2013 debut Embracism, but he’s apparently spent the past four years making friends. Callinan has just shared an eight-minute mockumentary, which is built on the idea that he’s this transcendent star who’s destroyed by his own genius. And to that end, he’s recruited a lineup of talking heads that includes Mac DeMarco, Jack Black, Mark Ronson, Weyes Blood, Tame Impala’s Jay Watson, Ladyhawke, Sebastien Tellier, and members of the Go-Betweens. Check it out below.
It seems pretty likely that there’s a new Kirin J Callinan record on the way now.
