Dreamy DC punk upstarts Flasher have such an understated yet arresting stage presence that once you see them in concert you begin to worry their recordings could never compare. Yet “Winnie,” the A-side from their upcoming 7″, was spellbinding, and so is its B-side. “Burn Blue” is a slow, steady churn that casts Flasher’s trademark Taylor Mulitz/Daniel Saperstein vocal interplay against a series of increasingly incendiary guitar riffs. It’s like listening to a band build a raging fire from kindling, and you can hear it below.
