The members of the New York band Pawns come from the intertwined punk and hardcore universes, but they make a dark, brooding, theatrical form of postpunk -- one that draws from early-'80s goth and death-rock while still sounding very much like circa-now DIY music. The Men frontman Ben Greenberg recorded their forthcoming album The Gallows, and their new song "The Cross" is a stormy, demented piece of music. Check it out below, via CLRVYNT.
