Jack White’s American Epic Documentary Is Finally Coming; Watch The New Trailer
American Epic, the three-part documentary series and feature film executive produced by Jack White, Robert Redford, and T Bone Burnett, was originally supposed to air in early 2016. Who knows what happened, but it’s finally coming to PBS next month, and now it has a new trailer. The documentary, narrated by Redford, focuses on the music and musicians recorded by talent scouts for major record companies in the 1920s, and it’ll be accompanied by The American Epic Sessions, a feature film documenting performances by modern-day musicians recorded on 1920s equipment. And, of course, a companion soundtrack, a 100-song box set, original archival recordings, and studio performances from The American Epic Sessions will be released on Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings and Jack White’s Third Man Records. Watch the new trailer, which features Jack White, Elton John, and Nas, below.
American Epic premieres 5/16 on PBS.
