The great Montreal producer Kaytranada is more of a house guy than a rap guy, but he’s lately been making more and more music for rappers: Freddie Gibbs, Cadence Weapon, Chance The Rapper. And now he’s teamed up with the young Compton rapper Buddy for the new five-song EP Ocean & Montana. On first listen, it’s a breezy, low-stakes affair, and Kaytranada’s warm and welcoming production makes a great complement for Buddy’s blithe flexing. Stream the whole thing below.
