Venue Shares Statement About Melody’s Echo Chamber Injury [UPDATED]

UPDATE: Music Hall Of Williamsburg has removed the statement from Melody Prochet’s family from its website. Melody’s Echo Chamber’s management company Echo Park Records provided this statement to Stereogum:

A week ago the family and doctor drafted up a statement which has since changed due to her medical results and tests.

Melody’s agent sent this old information to various promoters for cancellation insurance.

The original announcement made yesterday is the most accurate and complete statement we can offer until we get more information from Melody’s doctors about her condition.

Melody’s Echo Chamber was scheduled to release a new album and embark on a tour starting in October, but those dates were cancelled yesterday when it was announced that Melody Prochet was hospitalized following a “serious accident” that occurred earlier in the month. Her family did not share details of the hospitalization, but said that the musician is “hopeful to be able to play shows again soon.”

The family has since updated their message to say that Prochet experienced a brain aneurysm and broken vertebrae following her accident. She needs to have surgery, and will be hospitalized for several months. Read their statement below.

Melody suffered a serious accident earlier this month and experienced a brain aneurysm and broken vertebrae. We are optimistic, but there is surgery still to be done, and she will be in the hospital for several months.

Melody’s upcoming tour has been canceled, but she is hopeful to be able to play shows again.

Thank you for your support.
