Ed Sheeran To Play Lisa’s Love Interest In The Simpsons‘ La La Land Parody
Get used to seeing Ed Sheeran on your TV screens! Or hearing his voice, at least. Just a day after the singer’s highly anticipated appearance as a singing soldier on Game Of Thrones, Entertainment Weekly reports that the walking collection of bad tattoos will guest star on an episode of the upcoming 29th season of The Simpsons.
Specifically, he’ll be voicing a musician named Brendan, the Ryan Gosling-esque love interest to Lisa Simpson’s Emma Stone in “Haw-Haw Land,” the show’s parody of La La Land. “He keeps alternating [between], ‘You’re not that great, but you could be fantastic,’ and she keeps falling for him because of his talent,” explains executive producer Al Jean. “There’s actually a love triangle forming as well with Nelson, who tries to impress Lisa with his singing talent…He sings ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’ with new lyrics, and he kind of bullies those notes.”
Sheeran will be singing in the episode too. Also, his character wears a fedora.
