Burn – “Ill Together”
New York hardcore veterans came together in 1989, but after releasing their self-titled debut in 1990, members of the band went off to join up with post-hardcore monsters like Orange 9mm and Quicksand. But Burn never really broke up, and every once in a while, they’ll come back together to make something new. This time around, they haven’t taken much time off. The band released their From The Ashes EP last year, and now they’ve announced plans to follow it up with a new album called Do Or Die on Converge frontman Jacob Bannon’s Deathwish, Inc. label. Coverge guitarist Kurt Ballou, probably the best producer in underground rock today, worked with the band on the album, and first single “Ill Together” has that rugged New York hardcore face-punch intensity as well as the melodic, dynamic intensity of the post-hardcore bands that followed. It’s a good one. Check it out below, via Loudwire.
Do Or Die is out 9/8 on Deathwish, Inc.
