Jason Isbell – “Hope The High Road” Video
Jason Isbell put out his excellent new album The Nashville Sound last month. The LP is his first in six years to give equal billing to his backing band 400 Unit, and when I saw them live about a week after the release, they more than earned that credit, turning his songs into tight, expansive Southern-rock jams full of organ and fiddle and blazing guitar solos. Instead of a regular music video, the official video for lead single “Hope The High Road” is a live performance at the Nashville headquarters of Pulse Lighting, the company that designs the stage lighting for Isbell’s shows, and it manages to capture some of those shows’ immediacy and energy. Joshua Britt and Neilson Hubbard shot and edited the footage, and you can watch it below.
The Nashville Sound is out now on Isbell’s own Southeastern label.
