Miley Cyrus Misses Teen Choice Honor Due To “Unrealistic Schedule,” Announces “Younger Now” Out Friday
Last night, the currently-rebranding Miley Cyrus was supposed to accept the Ultimate Choice award at the Teen Choice Awards. (The honor in question is the Teen Choice Awards’ version of a lifetime achievement award, which is fun to think about.) But Cyrus didn’t show up at the show, and host Victoria Justice announced during the opening that she wouldn’t be there. In an Instagram post, Cyrus apologized for not making it to the show, writing that she “created an unrealistic schedule for myself.” In that same Instagram post, she also writes that her new single and video “Younger Now,” the title track to her forthcoming album, will be out on Friday.
It takes a lot of balls to plug a new product in the same post where you’re apologizing for not showing up somewhere.
