Watch Wyclef Jean’s Loose And Winsome Tiny Desk Concert
Sometimes NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts fly by, but Wyclef Jean took his sweet time and was all the better for it. The former Fugee stretched out his three-song set to 25 minutes, weaving in anecdotes about defying his preacher father, ’90s encounters with Whitney Houston and Destiny’s Child, and recruiting Bob Dylan for a video shoot. Wyclef was there to promote his new album Carnival III: The Fall And Rise Of A Refugee, and after two charming selections from that set — “Borrowed Time” and “Turn Me Good” — he and his band ran through a loose and vibrant “Gone Till November.” Watch below; it’ll make you want to get back into Wyclef Jean again.
