Brand New Cancel Shows Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Over the weekend, Brand New frontman Jesse Lacey issued a statement about the widespread allegations that he’d solicited nude photos from a 15-year-old when he was 24. Lacey apologized and wrote of his history with sex addiction without mentioning specific allegations: “The actions of my past have caused pain and harm to a number of people, and I want to say that I am absolutely sorry… I hope I can show humility, and that the pain I have caused people can heal.” And now, after that statement, Brand New have cancelled their upcoming live shows.

Brand New only had three shows left on their touring schedule, all of them in the UK and Ireland. And on their Facebook page, the band writes that they’re postponing all three shows “due to the events of the last few days.”
