XXXTentacion Jailed On New Charges, Could Face Decades In Prison
Earlier this year, we learned some horrific things about the charges against XXXTentacion, the deeply problematic and extremely popular young Florida rapper. Right now, XXXTentacion is facing charges of battery against a pregnant woman and false imprisonment because of a series of alleged attacks on an ex-girlfriend. Earlier this month, XXXTentacion filed a document from that ex-girlfriend, claiming that she no longer wants XXXTentacion to be prosecuted. But TMZ reports that prosecutors believe XXXTentacion illegally coerced the ex-girlfriend to sign that document, and they have now jailed him.
XXXTentacion is being held without bail, where he will likely remain until his trial. The Miami-Dade judge ruled that XXXTentacion violated his bond from the initial arrest. He is being charged with seven new felonies, including different degrees of witness tampering and witness harassment, as well as the initial charges of battery and false imprisonment. If convicted of all these charges, XXXTentacion could face decades in prison.
UPDATE: TMZ reports prosecutors have added eight more felony charges against XXXTentacion, bringing the total to 15. All the charges are related to witness tampering, many based on recorded phone calls during the rapper’s previous prison stays.
