Throughout the quarantine era, Margaret Glaspy has been posting performances of other artists’ songs on YouTube, including tunes by Big Thief, Sade, and Death Cab For Cutie. As Glaspy explains it, these are songs that informed the creation of her recent Devotion album. Today, she presents another one.

Glaspy and her partner, the jazz guitarist and Nels Cline collaborator Julian Lage, already performed a collaborative song called “Katonah” back in March for Chris Thile’s recently cancelled Live From Here radio show. Today they present a cover of “Rainbow,” the closing track from Kacey Musgraves’ world-conquering Golden Hour. If you have to be on lockdown, playing together like this seems like a lovely way to do it.
