Chime School – “The End”

Chime School – “The End”

In a few weeks, Bay Area indie-poppers Chime School will release their new album The Boy Who Ran The Paisley Hotel, and we’ve already posted the early tracks “Give Your Heart Away” and “Wandering Song.” Today, they’ve unleashed their new song “The End,” which, paradoxically enough, opens the new album. They couldn’t just end with a song called “The End.” That would be too obvious.

“The End” is a sun-dazed jangle-pop jam that practically radiates sunshine. It’s pure comfort food; a one point, the “Friday I’m In Love” riff shows up, and it’s like an old friend unexpectedly dropped by. Chime School frontman Andy Pastalaniec edited the video and helped out with the cinematography. The clip, partly done through DIY claymation, tells the story of two cats who write each other letters. Watch it below.

The Boy Who Ran The Paisley Hotel is out 8/23 via Slumberland.
