Gambles – “Safe Side” (Stereogum Premiere)
Matthew Daniel Siskin, who records under the name Gambles, made a little bit of noise last year with his song “Trust.” Enough so that now he’s working on material at the Rare Books Room in New York, where Bradford Cox is currently recording. With “Safe Side,” Gambles is furthering his place as a musician who can make sonicly sparse records that still carry a lot of heft, as they’re hearty in lyrical content. Check it out below, as well as his tour dates opening for the Maccabees.
