Daughn Gibson – “The Sound Of Law”
Last year, Daughn Gibson, a foxy Pennsylvania man who used to play drums for stoner-rockers Pearls & Brass, released the solo debut All Hell, which threw Gibson’s miles-deep voice over soft electronic soundscapes in ways that reminded me a whole lot of the Crash Test Dummies. On the strength of that album, Gibson signed to Sub Pop, and now he’s getting ready to follow it up with the ridiculously titled new LP Me Moan. The album features guitars from Baroness frontman John Baizley, and the rushing first single “The Sound Of Law” is darker and more propulsive than anything on All Hell. Hear it below.
Me Moan is out 7/9 on Sub Pop.
