Diamond Doves – “Little Devil”
Last we heard from Diamond Doves, they were the three-piece “In Dearland” portion of Elvis Perkins In Dearland that threaded their previous, indie Americana-tinged project’s sound with electronic filigree. In 2013, Diamond Doves are a two-piece — vocalist Wyndham Boylan-Garnett and multi-instrumentalist Nick Kinsey remain following the departure of Brigham Brough — and with the streamlined shape has come an apparently increased focus on electronic production. “Little Devil” is Diamond Doves’ first single to follow January’s Eat Your Heart Out EP, and their first as a two-piece, and what starts as a hushed, Fujiya & Miyagi-redolent bit of warm guitars and restrained beats billows into a full-blown dance rock track about suspicious minds and false allegations. Dance yrself clean (of anxiety):
