Young Thug – “Hundreds (I Had A Dream)” (Feat. Meek Mill)
The Atlanta Brick Squad affiliate Young Thug and the Philadelphia MMG lieutenant Meek Mill boast two of the most frenetically spazzy voices in rap, untamed rasps that often seem to indicate an MC filling with helium until he threatens to burst. And now they’ve teamed up on a typically triumphant and skewed beat by prodigious Atlanta producer Metro Boomin (he made a cameo in my Future feature) for a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Hundreds (I Had A Dream)” begins with the most famous quote from King’s most famous speech, using those words as a launchpad to discuss the state of today’s urban black man.
