Though he’s released a steady stream of albums in the last few years, the Jamaican rapper/dancehall performer Vybz Kartel (Adidja Palmer) has been incarcerated on murder charges since 2011. He was convicted yesterday along with three others for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams in 2011. Despite one juror’s attempt to bribe the judge (the juror has since been arrested) and protests from outside the court, Palmer was successfully convicted, though his lawyer notes Palmer plans to appeal.
