These indie-rock luminaries and their lifestyle products! We’ve all heard about James Murphy’s gourmet coffee and Sigur Rós’s scented candles. Now Broken Social Scene ringleader Kevin Drew, who happens to be releasing a new solo album called Darlings today, is also releasing something called tequila lime body butter. It’s available for $20 per 150-ml bottle through the skin care and cosmetics company Wildrose Magnolia. Per the manufacturer, “Our 100% waterless condensed Body Butter is nourishing, hydrating and rich with antioxidants. Free from preservatives, synthetics, fillers and junk! Protects and soothes chapped winter skin or sunburns. PS, also makes a nice shaving balm, and try a dab on your hair as a leave on conditioner. Apply often and have a good time!” Despite the goofy infomercial nature of the commercial below, which features Drew singing Darlings opening track “Body Butter,” this is a real product, “Handcrafted with BIG LOVE in Toronto.” Watch the video and wonder if you might be denying your skin the hydration Kevin Drew knows it deserves.
