Chance The Rapper – “I Am Very Very Lonely”
Lately, while he’s been all over the summer-festival circuit, Chance The Rapper has shared a handful of new tracks: “Home Studio (Back Up In This Bitch),” “The Writer,” the untitled one. These songs mostly feel like cutting-room-floor leftovers, songs that could never find a home on any full-length project. That’s not the case with Chance’s latest, “I Am Very Very Lonely,” which he shared last night. The new track has a viewpoint — that Chance is lonely — and it has a sound. Chance recorded the song with Social Experiment, his live touring band, and it’s sung more than rapped — an airy, minimal post-soul meditation, a song for wallowing in stoned self-pity. Listen below.
Those Chance/James Blake songs have to come out sooner or later, right?
