The Bug – “Fuck A Bitch” (Feat. Death Grips) & “Save Me” (Feat. Gonjasufi)
Kevin “Kmart” Martin has been making music as the Bug for years, but his last proper album was released six years ago. That album was London Zoo, an earth-shaking amplification of grime, dubstep, and jungle, featuring a stacked roster of guest vocalists that hadn’t been rivaled on an electronic album until Disclosure dropped Settle last year. And now Martin returns with Angels & Devils, an album we’ve been hearing murmurs about for well over a year, with a lineup of singers that fits in with the current state of music as perfectly as the slate of guests on the previous album did in ’08. Featuring Liz Harris aka Grouper in addition to Death Grips, which alone covers an unbelievable spectrum of singers, Angels & Devils will also feature copeland (of Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland and Hype Williams cult fame), Gonjasufi, Justin Broadrick of Godflesh/Jesu, and Martin’s longtime collaborator Flowdan. Below you can listen to a snippet of “Fuck A Bitch,” the late-album appearance by Death Grips, a perfect pairing, considering Martin might be their strongest musical influence.
UPDATE: Here are the full-length streams of “Fuck A Bitch” (feat. Death Grips) and “Save Me” (feat. Gonjasufi).
Angels & Devils is out 8/26 via Ninja Tune.
