Morrissey Bodyguard Claims He Was Fired For Refusing To Murder Fansite Admin

Morrissey has had an eventful year so far: he cancelled a whole tour and blamed the opening act, he got mobbed by fans in San Jose, he defended seals, and he even released an album. It seems the only thing he hasn’t done is plot a murder … unless maybe he has? According to TMZ, Moz’s former bodyguard Bradley Steyn has filed a lawsuit claiming that he was fired after refusing the singer’s request to “hurt” the administrator at one of his fan sites, Morrissey-solo.com. Steyn says that Morrissey’s tour manager asked if the fan “could be gotten rid of” and tried to get him to find the fan’s home address.

Morrissey has had problems with this particular fan site (and this particular fan) since as early as 2003. The fan in question, who goes by the username DavidT, received a cease and desist letter from Moz’s lawyers after posting an unsubstantiated rumor that the band and crew hadn’t been paid for a leg of a 2002 tour. Over the past decade, the site has continued to run and post news and rumors about Morrissey’s activity.

If the bodyguard’s allegations turn out to be true, Moz could be in serious trouble — As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was recently sentenced to six years in prison for plotting to murder his wife. Morrissey has not yet commented on the lawsuit.

Morrissey and his band wore FUCK MORRISSEY-SOLO.COM t-shirts at a concert in 2011.

UPDATE: Morrissey has released a statement denying that he even knows Steyn, much less asked him to harm anyone.
