Watch Oneohtrix Point Never Perform “Hard Rock Cyberdrone” Customized For The Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden Tour
Daniel Lopatin could justifiably take 2014 as a victory lap, or just a break. His newest release as Oneohtrix Point Never, last year’s R Plus Seven, was my favorite album of 2013, and it eventually led to a live show that bordered on spiritual. But that hasn’t slowed him down, and when he recently stepped up as a replacement for Death Grips for the Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden tour, he promised he was writing, as he put it, “30 minutes of customized hard rock cyberdrone specifically for this tour.” Now you can see some footage of that set. It sounds more aggressive than anything he’s done in the past, which works well with Nine Inch Nail and serves as a solid replacement for Death Grips. Watch the footage from the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado below.
R Plus Seven is out now via Warp Records.
