Culture Club Prep Reunion Album, Tour
The British quartet Culture Club were one of the most commercially dominant groups of the early-’80s new wave era, and their fey, romantic glamor and subtle soul-music touches helped open the door for the New Romantic subgenre. The group broke up in 1986, partly because of frontman Boy George’s heroin addiction, but they’ve gotten together a few times since, for tours and for the 1999 reunion album Don’t Mind If I Do. Over the past decade, there have been a few partial reunions, including a tour that didn’t include Boy George. But all four key members are back together again, and they played some UK shows this summer. Right now, they’re at work on another reunion album, this time with the veteran A-list producer Youth. And this fall, they’ll come to the U.S. for a short tour. We’ve got those dates below.
