Arcade Fire’s Will Butler played a solo show last night at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hotel in Washington, D.C. He was one of the openers for United Nations, who is on tour now. It was Butler’s first ever solo show and he only played original material, which a Twitter user described as sounding like “Violent Femmes meets Pixies.” His brother, Win, also played a DJ set at the same location on Friday night under his name DJ Windows 98. Arcade Fire is set to play a show in D.C. tonight, which is why the group is hanging around the area.
