It’s always a bit weird when bands show up on late-night shows in T-shirts and dirty sneakers while all the other guests dress to impress. That was never going to be a problem with Interpol. Last night, the band showed up on the Late Show With David Letterman, churning their way through “All The Rage Back Home,” a song from their much-discussed new LP El Pintor. They sounded exactly as studiously bored as they’ve always sounded, but they looked slick as fuck. At this point, Paul Banks is a couple of knuckle tats away from going full Russian gangster.
