Watch Josh Homme Serenade Zane Lowe With An Acoustic “Long Slow Goodbye”
Last night, Queens Of The Stone Age were the guests on MTV UK’s Soundchain, which is hosted by BBC Radio DJ Zane Lowe. For one of their performances, frontman Josh Homme serenaded Lowe with an acoustic version of “Long Slow Goodbye” from QOTSA’s 2005 album Lullabies To Paralyze. Homme gives a passionate performance and Lowe looks like he was on the verge of tears the whole time. You can watch the video below.
In a promo clip for the show that was released last week, Zowe and Homme bonded over their kids’ musical tastes. “I refuse to be a musical snob at this point with my kids, you know what I mean, if they wanna listen to One Direction, go for it man,” Lowe said. Homme gently disagrees: “Yeah I mean that’s not necessarily my direction. I try and shy it away to a different direction because I have to drive the car too! And like, do you want it to go over a cliff or do you want it to go to school?! You decide, you’re eight!”
