Watch The Afghan Whigs Cover Jeff Buckley, Fleetwood Mac, & Bobby Womack In Philadelphia; Play With Usher In Brooklyn
The Afghan Whigs are currently on a North American tour in support of Do To The Beast, their first new album in over 15 years. During their live shows, the band has been incorporating excerpts of some covers into their own songs. At their recent show in Philadelphia, they played some of Fleetwood Mac’s “Tusk” during “I Am Fire,” some of Jeff Buckley’s “Morning Theft” during “It Kills,” and Bobby Womack’s “Across 110th Street” during “Faded.” Watch videos of all of them below.
They’ve also been playing some other new covers during this tour, including Little Eva’s “The Loco-motion,” the Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” and Blackstreet’s “No Diggity.”
At last night’s show in Brooklyn, the band brought out Usher for a special guest appearance to sing “Climax,” which they also did together at SXSW in 2013.
