Deafheaven guitarist Kerry McCoy sat down with Matt Sweeney on the latest episode of Guitar Power, a continuation of the guitar-focused web series that Sweeney began last year. They talk about their own playing styles, the forced genre labels that have plagued Deafheaven since they started, and different elements that show up a lot in black metal and shoegaze music.
