Legendary AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd hasn’t had a great couple of months. Back in November, New Zealand authorities charged Rudd with attempting to hire a hitman to have two people killed. That charge was dropped the following day due to “insufficient evidence,” but charges of drug possession and threatening to kill still stand. Rudd is denying the allegations and pleading not guilty, and he’ll appear in court again in February before the case goes to a judge-alone trial later in 2015. While Rudd appears on the band’s new album, Rock Or Bust, guitarist Angus Young says that he was unreliable during the recording process, and his personal turmoil has prevented him from helping to promote the record. Rudd is pretty clear, though, that he intends to remain a part of the band: “I’m going back to work with AC/DC and I don’t care who likes it or who doesn’t,” he told New Zealand’s One News in his first public interview since the allegations. “I want my job back and I want my reputation back. And I’m gonna get it back. I’m gonna fucking taking it back.” It remains to be seen, however, exactly how his bandmates feel about that.
