Taylor Swift Beats Frozen As 2014’s Top Selling Album, Jack White Sells The Most Vinyl
Taylor Swift’s 1989 has eked out the Frozen soundtrack to become the best-selling album of the year. 1989 has sold 3.66 million copies since it was released back in October compared to Frozen’s 3.53 million, according to Billboard. This is the second time that Swift has had the top selling album after she sold 3.22 million copies of her 2009 album Fearless. 1989 and the Frozen soundtrack are the only two albums to sell more than 3 million copies this year and are trailed by Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour (1.13 million) and Pentatonix’s That’s Christmas To Me (1.14 million). Additionally, Jack White sold the most vinyl records this year — 87,707 copies in the United States and over 150,000 wordwide, according to a post on his website. Maybe the album isn’t dead yet!
