Watch Ghostface Killah Play The Tonight Show Without The Roots
Rappers who perform on The Tonight Show have a unique opportunity: They get to rap in front of the Roots, probably the greatest live rap band of all time. Ghostface Killah evidently doesn’t care. Last night, he was on The Tonight Show with a live band, but that live band was not the Roots, who backed him up the last time he was on Jimmy Fallon’s show. Instead, he played with the Revelations, the live soul band who played on his recent concept album 36 Seasons. He also wore an enormous leather bucket hat. Along with the R&B singer Kandace Springs, Ghost and the band did “Love Don’t Live Here No More,” the first single and opening track from 36 Seasons. It’s a smooth, casual performance, and you can watch it below.
36 Seasons is out now on Salvation/Tommy Boy.
