Win Butler Rumored For NBA All-Star Celebrity Game
Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler is a basketball fiend and a friend of San Antonio Spurs three-point specialist Matt Bonner. He plays basketball on the road. He’s played in the POP Montreal Festival’s POP Vs. Jock charity game for a few years running. He’s taller than the average famous person. And he’s also a legit celebrity, even outside indie-blog circles. All of this means that Butler should’ve really been playing in the NBA All-Star Weekend’s celebrity game for years now. He may finally get his chance this year. As NME points out, the ArcadeFireTube Twitter, which seems to know things, claims that Butler will play in this year’s celebrity game, which goes down 2/13 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. And Butler is DJing at the Brooklyn venue Baby’s All Right the night after the game, so this rumor has legs! It would be absolutely delightful to watch Kevin Hart cross Win Butler over, so fingers crossed for this.
