The Jesus and Mary Chain might finally be releasing the follow-up to 1998’s Munki. The band broke up in 1999 citing disagreements between brothers Jim and William Reid, but they got back together to tour in 2007 and have performed on and off since then, including a run of Psychocandy 30th anniversary shows planned for this year. The Reids have been contemplating releasing new material ever since their return to the stage, but it hasn’t materialized yet. “We are kind of coming round to being in agreement, which is a bit weird for us,” Jim Reid told NME. “There will be an album — we will get it together.
