Watch Weird Al “Cover” Woody Guthrie On The Late Late Show
Thomas Lennon is the latest guest-host on The Late Late Show until James Corden takes over for Craig Ferguson next month, and he made the most of his brief stint by backing up “Weird Al” Yankovic on an extremely peculiar Woody Guthrie cover. The setup: Now that Yankovic is out of his 32-year record contract, he wants to pursue his true passion, authentic American folk music. That manifests itself in a promo for Yankovic’s Mandatory World Tour poorly disguised as a rare Guthrie cover. An accordion is involved, as it should be. Watch below starting at the 33:08 mark.
