FLOODFest Announces Impressive Inaugural SXSW 2015 Lineup
We’re nearing the end of February, which means every inbox in the music industry is overflowing with SXSW showcase announcements. Today, FLOOD Magazine revealed that their debut SXSW showcase, FLOODFest, will be held in none other than the Cedar Street Courtyard, which use to be the longstanding venue of the now-defunct Filter Magazine. As it turns out, FLOOD is run by Anthemic Agency, which was founded by one of Filter’s former owners before the duo parted ways last year. That likely explains how a relatively new publication could wrangle such a desirable venue spot and such an impressive lineup. Spoon, Run The Jewels, DJ Windows 98 (Win Butler of Arcade Fire), Best Coast, Twin Shadow, Courtney Barnett, Frank Turner, King Tuff, Metz, Viet Cong, Speedy Ortiz, and a host of other bands will play over the course of four days (Wednesday, 3/18 through Saturday, 3/21). Check out the entire lineup above.
